Assisting Midwife (TULSA): SARAH TILFORD, CPM

Sarah’s journey into birth work began in China while working with women in crisis pregnancy situations. She wanted to learn more practical ways to serve them so decided to pursue midwifery. With no prior experience, she was surprised at how quickly she fell in love with birth and taking care of mamas and their babies. Now she can’t imagine life without it! Sarah began midwifery training at an apprenticeship in Southern California, then returned to China to serve as a doula and reproductive health educator. She interned at a birth center in the Philippines before returning to Tulsa to apprentice and complete her clinical training in 2014. Sarah grew up in Edmond, OK and loves to travel. She has a black belt in karate and is a certified Zumba instructor. She is passionate about nutrition, and cooking. Sarah and her husband, Micah live in Tulsa with their beautiful son, Jonah and plan to live overseas again someday. Sarah has been studying and practicing birth work for 4 years, and has attended over 135 births.
